Zorg's report from planet earth

Av Hanne, 10c, 2002

Zorg has just got home from his misson on planet Earth, and he is talking to his commander. This is his impression of the Earth:

"Oh, what a planet! You should have been there yourself! I've never seen anything more extraordinary!

When I first entered the Earth's atmosphere, it was dark. It seemed like the Earth people had made a big blanket around their planet, a big, black blanket! Then, as I got out of this big cloud, I could see the ocean. It was blue and green...and black! It was as if they had decorated the sea with black shining painting. I also saw birds, seals ans whales bathing in this 'decoration'. What luxury!

On the southern side of the planet, there was this big awful forest, which I believe human-beings didn't like. That's probably why they cut it down and made big factories there instead. Then they could produce this black blanket, and that was much better!

I saw many animals over there! Some of them, I only sas a few of. I guess people didn't like these animals, so they killed them...they were most likely ugly anyway!"

Zorg's commander breaks in:

"But Zorg, don't you think that..."

With Zorg and his eagerness, it's not easy to stop him. He goes on:

"Earth people are real party animals! In some areas, they had really big fireworks. There were planes dropping big rockets that led to explotions and started huge bonfires! Incredible!

And, one day, as I was looking at the big cities, I saw something very interesting: To make their planet even more beautiful , they had decorated the ground with lots of small things in all colours and shapes. It looked a bit like bottles and newspapers, and other things like that...Well, actually...come to think about it...it was bottles and newspapers. And chocolate paper and plastic bags and chewing gum...garbage! Is that good?"

Zorg's commander wriggles himself, and with despair in his voice, he says:

"Zorg...I want you to go back to planet Earth. I want you to look at the same things again, and to think about it. Don't be too positive this time, Zorg!"

Zorg obeys his commander and goes back to the Earth to re-investigate the conditions there. Maybe this time he'll learn that gas- and oil leaks, animal deaths, cutting down the rain forest, killing endangered species, war and garbage pollution aren't good at all...?

Very good! You write well and correctly. 6.
